When Bad Pixies Happen to Gorgeous People

We love Cate Blanchett. She is stunning and elegant and seriously can do no wrong in our eyes. We reported on her new pixie cut earlier this summer and were initially enamored by it. But then it started growing out. And now it looks like this.

Now kids, try not to be distracted by Cate’s gorgoeus, glowing porcelain skin and sparkling eyes…. admit it- the hair could be a blonde version of Jim Carey’s ‘do from Dumb & Dumber. Thank goodness her bangs are long enough to be swooped to the side.

Pixies are a difficult style to pull off…. and even more difficult to grow out! What are your thoughts on Cate’s gamine tresses? Tell us in the comments, lovies.

We Want To Have a Man-Date With Jason Sudeikis’ Mustache!!

We saw Going the Distance yesterday and we really must admit we were pleasantly surprised. Seriously! After the poor showing for rom coms this summer, this tale of long distance love starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long was a blast. What made it awesome wasn’t so much Drew and Justin and the fact that their chemistry is good since they also sometimes date in real life.

No, what made the movie great was a formidable supporting case that included Christina Applegate (lurve), Charlie Day and SNL’s Jason Sudeikis (also know as the guy who has seen January Jones naked). Anywho, Sudeikis sports a serious stache throughout the film (in the hope of bagging a cougar) and we thought it deserved some props of its own. If Jason ever brings that stache on the town we will buy it a drink and be its wing man! Here’s to you buddy!

Vienna Girardi Gets a Bob, We Not Only Approve, We Applaud.

Former Bachelor fiance Vienna Girardi has previously gotten under our skin for a number of reasons and one of those was her stringy long locks. If you’re going to be a reality television star we expect you to be better groomed. Well it looks like Vienna finally got the hang of it because she has embraced this season’s favorite ‘do, the bob. We love this look on Vienna. it perfectly frames her angular face, looks clean and manicured and frankly adds some much needed maturity to her look.

Vienna took to her Twitter to thank Salon 901. “All thanks to you!! Thank you for the amazing new look,” she tweeted.

We assume she read our post about how long hair is on its way out.

Natalie’s Venice Updo

Oh you know we love a good updo! Natalie Portman attended the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Venice Film Festival to premiere her film, Black Swan, with an absolutely stunning ‘do.

She’s also rocking a bright red Rodarte dress that kind of looks like kitschy promwear to us, but that’s okay. The updo is phenomenal. It appears to be a side chignon with a small braid or twist at the nape of the neck. Beautiful, no?

Check out the pics below for different views of Natalie’s locks. Black Swan, which premieres this December, is a thriller about a veteran ballet dancer (Natalie) and her cunning rival, played by Mila Kunis. Check out the trailer here. It’s intense. The film looks very All About Eve and Single White Female… but with a ballet backdrop. Hmmm.

The color is beautiful as well. We love all the caramel highlights we’ve been seeing for Fall, don’t you?

Hair Crush: Dianna Agron

Okay, Lea Michele… move on over for just a minute. There are other cast members on Glee. Of course they aren’t as talented as you. But they sure are pretty! We have a new hair crush. Her name is Dianna Agron, the adorable pregnant cheerio, Quinn Fabray, from the hit Fox show.

She posed for Vanity Fair’s October issue (no, we can’t believe we’re already talking October issues either!) and she looks absolutely stunning. She is a hair goddess. We’re particularly loving the interesting side twisty-pony thing she’s doing in the photo at right. You know we’re anxious for the braid trend to evolve into something more interesting for Fall. This is a super cute alternative. We LOVE it. Also adore the hue she’s rocking– it’s a medium shade of blonde that has quite a lot of depth to it. The highlights and lowlights are simply divine.

And we cannot wait for the return of Glee! The premiere is on September 21st.
