Lock & Mane

Did you guys watch the Golden Globes last night? Of course you did!  Well, we saw many fabulous hair trends, one of which we of course absolutely adore: hair accessories! Most notably, of course, was Miss Carey Mulligan, the critically acclaimed young star of An Education.  Her look overall is always very elegant and feminine– she’s super chic and very gamine with the short Audrey Hepburn ‘do.  

A lot of short-haired beauties write in to us to ask what they can do to add some pizazz to their cropped locks, especially for a special event.  Carey nailed it with this gorgeous sparkly headband and understated makeup.  Check out this elegant and sparkly skinny headband for a similar look.

We also LOVED Rose Byrne’s look from last night’s red carpet. She rocked wavy hair (the tousled look is everywhere these days, no?) and an elegant antiquey broach-like barette.  Absolutely gorgeous. Check out one of our favorites, Jennifer Behr’s Crystal Wing bobby, for a similar look. 

The lovely Diane Kruger also donned a sleek half-up ‘do pinned back with a gorgeous small gem-covered barette.  Absolute perfection.  And Marion Cotillard accented her updo and mini-bouffant with a fabulous sparkly rhinestoned comb. Try this comb from Jennifer Ouellette for a similar look.  Oui Oui!  We love!

Last but not least, our favorite repressed 1960’s housewife, January Jones, looked super mod with a simple black satin headband and bright red lips.
