We hate to admit it, but we have been watching “The Jersey Shore” on MTV. How can we not? It has to be the trashiest of trash television we have seen in a long time. And because hair is our thing, we couldn’t help but wonder just how “Snookie” does her do. After much debate amongst ourselves (and oh so many bottles of hairspray) we think we have it down pat. So just in case you want to do the Snookie, here are some tips on how to obtain super straight long locks with a super poof on top. (And if you think the show is as hilarious as we do check out Alyssa Milano’s Snookie transformation at Funny or Die.)
First off, Snookie has very, very shiny locks. To restore the shine in your mane we recommend a shine treatment, like Global Goddess Coconut Amla Revitalizing Treatment or Oscar Blandi’s Jasmine Shine Spray.
Second, no way her hair comes out of the shower and just dries that way. No sir. We estimate the Snook is on average drying and straightening for about an hour. It’s a lot, we know. But if she is using the right tools like the T3 Bespoke Featherweight and the BaByliss Nano Titanium, finished off with a Mason Pearson Mixed Boar Bristle Brush, that time could be cut in half.
Blow, straighten, brush, blow a little more. All of this is elementary (sorry we just saw Sherlock!). Now comes the poof. We wish we had a better name for it but we don’t.
First add some texture to the roots since hair will be silky smooth all over after all the heat treats. We recommend Jonathan’s Dirt Texturizing Paste or even his sweet smelling Silky Dirt for added shine. Next tease the roots from the scalp out with a fine tooth comb, spraying along the way with Philip B. Maui Wowie Beach Spray. This is the shore after all. The spray will help add volume and height. Finish up with some high shine hair spray and pull back with a serious pony or blinging jaw clip. Think that’s too much product? On The Jersey Shore? Never!
And there you have it. You’re all set to hit the shore with Snookie and her pals. Just try not to get punched in the face.
