We at Lock & Mane believe your hair truly is your best accessory. That’s why we usually advocate for fun new hair trends. Hair says something about you. It sets you apart and it can be used as a fashion statement. That is also why we have been reluctant to make a judgement call on the latest in hair color trends … ombre. You have probably come across the ombre on the street a couple of times, or if not you’ve seen the ombre-iffic pics of Drew Barrymore’s fall foray into the trend. The ombre effect is marked by a not-so-subtle gradation in hair color, typically involving light roots moving to shockingly dark ends. It is kind of like the opposite of frosted tips for boy bands in the nineties. So because we don’t judge (no one likes a judger!) we called on our troop of style experts who have no such qualms about being judgey.
The always in-the-know Nadine Jolie, author of “Confessions of a Beauty Addict,” thinks the ombre hair trend is just silly and messy madness.
“It’s definitely hip and cool, in an ‘I don’t wash my hair and I’m still hotter than you’ kind of way, but it’s impossible to look pretty and polished when it seems you lost your colorist’s phone number … or you decided to dip your ends in paint,” Jolie says.
Our favorite hairnista, Africa Miranda, she of the Hairnista Chronicles, believes if you want to do something this drastic to your hair you should opt for a fab wig rather than risk the damage to your own locks.
“For me this style is a definite ‘don’t.’ Being the resourceful Hairnista that I am, I’ve found a way to try this trend without letting my own lovely locks be a casualty to fashion … a cute wig,” Miranda says. “One great brand to check out is Bobbi Boss. My go-to hair haven is Sunny’s Hair & Wigs. Find your local Sunny’s and give this trend a try.”
But because we are so fair and balanced we want to note that the fabulous and stylish Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot appreciates a little ombre in all our lives.
“I think the drastic changes like white blonde roots fading into blue-black ends are great for anyone who’s looking to make a statement by experimenting with color. However, I really like the fact that the gradation in color can also be toned down, making it more wearable for anyone who’s tired of getting traditional highlights,” Morris says. “Overall, I like the look and appreciate the fact that it allows people to express their personality through experimenting with color in a new way, but like any hair trend, I don’t think this one’s here to stay.”

Sorry, I actually kinda like this trend. And Drew can pull it off for sure!
Very nice Blog, I will tell my friends about it.
Thanks
Wonderful insight:-)
