We took some time to chat with Nickel’s Sales Manager Cheri Hecker to get the lowdown on how these products will change your life.

Lock & Mane: A lot of guys we know don’t buy their face wash or grooming products for themselves and if they do they gravitate towards what is cheapest at the drug store. What is the value-added in using Nickel products.

Cheri Hecker: You actually save money by using the Nickel products because the amount you use of each product is so minimal. That is because everything in the line is in some type of a gel form so you can use a lot less. It penetrates the skin three times faster than classic cream and it spreads more evenly.

L&M: One of Nickel’s best-sellers is the Morning After Rescue Gel. We have heard it is a savior after a late night.

CH: It is part of our rescue team and it is made for mornings where waking up is especially hard whether because you didn’t get enough sleep or you were out partying late. It takes skin that is slack and it contains coffee berry extract that tightens the skin and smoothes the wrinkles. It literally wakes up the skin and can be used at any time for day for an added boost.

L&M: And what about dark circles under the eyes? We feel like guys either believe there isn’t much they can do about them or they steal their girlfriend’s products.

CH: When you’re tired your eyes get these dark circles. You want an eye gel that opens the eyes and makes you look awake. Our Eye Contour Lift contains wheat and soy proteins that moisturize while repairing damaged skin around the eyes.

L&M: We have been hearing buzz about one of your products that people call a face lift in a jar. Please explain.

CH: That would be our Silicon Valley Wrinkle Equalizer. I actually know that a lot of women buy this product even though we make it for men because there isn’t anything else on the market that comes close to getting the same results. This is a treatment formulated specifically to combat wrinkles. It is in a gel form like most of our products so you end up using very little of the product at once. There is silicon in the gel that smoothes the wrinkle so right off the bat you see results but over time it literally heals the wrinkle.

L&M: This product sounds great for guys who have been smokers. Smoking causes so many face wrinkles.

CH: That is so true. I gave some of the product to an old colleague who was a smoker and after four to five months people were actually asking him if he had a facelift.

L&M: Onto the most important guy-grooming tool … shaving products. Why should dudes use Nickel’s shaving products?

CH: Our Smooth Operator Shaving Gel contains a ginger extract that makes the hair stand straight up so you end up getting a much closer shave and the hair doesn’t grow back as fast. There is moisture in there also, leaving the skin very soft and smooth when finished.

L&M: We love the names of your products because they actually say exactly what it is they do. For example, the Cold Sweat deodorant…

CH: Cold Sweat is a water-based gel that is totally free of aluminum salt which contributes to breast cancer. It is also alcohol free which is good for people with sensitive skin. Most deodorants work for a couple of weeks and then a guy has to switch. That’s why most men have three or four deodorants in their medicine cabinets. That doesn’t happen with cold sweat. One of the little tricks I like to tell guys before they use it is to put in the fridge for a few minutes a couple of times a week. The water-based gel actually holds the coolness so you get out of the shower and apply a nice cool dry deodorant. You have never felt so fresh!
